definitionThis collection of digital graphic images is generated using the Nodes and Arcs Lindenmayer System (NALS), processing selected ontology files found on Archivo, the ontology archive of DBpedia. An ontology is a model of a domain or area of interest (for example, the visual arts) defining object types, relationships and constraints. The ontology provides the knowledge used by computers to navigate the domain and make valid assertions. The ontology is typically constructed with a class hierarchy. This class hierarchy forms a graph which is exploited by the NALS algorithm, making classes the nodes and the subClassOf relations the arcs. Embedding these node and arc references in expanded Lindenmayer System rules, a tree with a circular tendency is graphically generated.

definitionRegarding the lsys archivo graphs An example of an onto rule, The GND Gender ontology "rules": "G=@(GND Gender)[--|(null)f@(skos:Collection)[-|(subClassOf)f@(skos:OrderedCollection)x]x][-|(null)f@(skos:Concept)[-|(subClassOf)f@(https://d-nb.info/standards/vocab/gnd/gender#GenderValue)x]x],f = ff,X=F-[[X]+X]+F[+FX]-XF+[[X]-X]-F[-FX]+X", The @-sign is a node, the root is GND Gender. The '|' pipe letter is an arc, |(subClassOf) is a link. This ontology puts the definition of gender within their namespace, that is, the ns of the Deutsche Bank, https://d-nb.info/standards/vocab/gnd/gender.html. The rule flourish at the end defining 'X' creates a more Lindenmayer System conventional "tree," now embedded in the graph of the ontology. The 'F' is move forward, the minus is turn left, the plus is turn right. Square brackets are for context push.
